The Ask

We were approached with a one-of-a-kind opportunity: to build a brand around the rare concept of a six-time World Champion calf roper, Cody Ohl, personally training and developing elite horses. It was a bold and unprecedented idea with no current competition in the space. There’s nothing else like it: a world-class cowboy known for his grit and accolades putting his name behind every horse he trains. The team behind Cody knew this could be special, but they had no existing digital presence or a business to talk about.

The team asked Lucie Content to create a brand from the dirt up, building everything:

  • Develop the brand name and visual identity that reflected Cody’s championship legacy
  • Build a complete digital presence including website, social media channels, and content strategy
  • Create compelling storytelling content that would establish credibility and authenticity
  • Launch a content engine to build a loyal following from day one

The Strategy

We took a holistic, content-first approach to the brand launch, blending powerful storytelling with digital precision. Our work included:

  • Brand Development: Created the name 6X Horses to reflect Cody’s six world championships, then designed a strong, timeless logo and a cohesive visual identity.
  • Web Presence: Developed a custom, SEO-friendly website that serves as the brand’s digital home — built to feature both Cody and the horses for sale.
  • Social Media: Our team launched and now manages the Facebook and Instagram channels, publishing engaging, story-driven content several times a week.
  • Content Capture: We traveled to Hico, Texas, and in just three days captured an extensive library of video, photography, and interviews to authentically tell the 6X Horses story.
  • YouTube Channel: Launched a dedicated YouTube channel to host long-form storytelling and lifestyle content. We also leveraged YouTube Shorts to highlight individual horses and Cody’s hands-on training style.

The Impact

The results speak for themselves. In the first month alone, 6X Horses generated over 100,000 video views across Instagram and YouTube, with significant increases in website traffic and engagement at launch. The brand experienced rapid growth in social followers, brand recognition, and community excitement, fueled by organic earned media attention and authentic content. Thanks to a clear vision, a legendary cowboy, and the right partner to bring it all to life, 6X Horses is now riding strong as a fast-growing brand built from the dirt up and heading full-speed toward national attention.

The Lindsay Vonn Moment

Momentum accelerated quickly when Olympic gold medalist Lindsay Vonn rode one of the 6X Horses — Baby Doll — and gave the brand a public shoutout. Her Instagram post tagged @6xHorses, and the moment was picked up by national media including OutKick.com and UnofficialNetworks.com

This earned media moment gave the brand a powerful boost in visibility and credibility, reinforcing its unique appeal beyond the rodeo world.
