When you step inside Scratch Out Loud, the energy is immediate: music, vinyl, and creativity in motion. Lucie Content sat down with co-founder Eric Hall, better known as E Hall, to shine a light on Atlanta’s only all-vinyl DJ school.
He runs the space with longtime friend and business partner DJ Princess Cut, one of the city’s most recognized female DJs.

From Friendship to a Creative Business
Hall and Princess Cut have built a friendship that spans more than 15 years, rooted in a shared love for music and the hustle of the entertainment world. In their early days, Hall often accompanied Princess Cut to events, helping with setup “There’d be a lot of girls, a lot of kids, they would be amazed because they’d never seen a DJ, a DJ of color, a female DJ. And she would pull them around the booth and just let them press a button or two,” Hall said.
Those moments planted the seed for Scratch Out Loud. The two realized there was a need: a place for people, especially women and young people, to feel welcome learning something new. As Hall later shared in a note to Lucie Content, “Our mission is that Princess Cut and Scratch Out Loud provide a space for women and girls (and really everyone) to express themselves musically. It’s something we’re incredibly passionate about.”
Teaching the Foundation
The school focuses on the foundations of DJing, grooves, lines, equipment setup, but keeps things creative. While Scratch Out Loud started with vinyl, about 90% of lessons are now digital, meeting students where they are.
Lessons can get emotional. “Music is an emotion,” Hall said. “You could play one song, it brings out one emotion, bring another song, it just brings out another emotion.”
One of their most powerful vinyls? Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s ‘I Have a Dream’ speech. Students have paired it with beats and melodies to create something truly moving.
Capturing the Story with Lucie Content
The Lucie Content team was able to visit Scratch Out Loud located within Koncept House. They brought a mobile production studio to the space, filming the story with multiple cameras, professional lighting, and a full crew.
For Hall and Princess Cut, it’s all about connection. Whether teaching a child to scratch vinyl or watching a graduate perform, they are proud to see music inspire confidence and community.
